Welcome, Lara! Our newest Principal Recruitment Consultant

We are incredibly excited to introduce and welcome our newest Connector, Lara!

This month, Lara joined our Australian Recruitment team as Principal Recruitment Consultant.

Lara brings with her a wide variety of experience, with 22 years in the recruitment industry extensively across the UK and Australia.

Lara has been successful across many industries, with a particular niche for technical roles and a passion for the renewables space. Her strengths lie in her ability to develop strong and trusting partnerships with her clients and candidates which results in long-lasting business relationships.

We asked Lara what one of her fondest memories of her career has been thus far. Relaying a successful placement, Lara said:

“One particular candidate had just landed at Heathrow Airport from Pakistan, when I asked him to jump in a taxi and meet me for an interview. Within 24 hours, I secured him an exceptional contract role with BP.  He went on to work with them for 7 years and we are still in contact, as he’s forever grateful”.

Similarly, Lara still holds a strong relationship with her client, which is a testament to her commitment to her professional networks and partnerships.

We also took the chance to ask Lara what she enjoys most about recruitment and what keeps her passionate.

“I thrive on the fluidity of recruitment, the ups and the downs. I am a very determined person, so I love when a challenge is presented and being able to find a perfect candidate for a business and its unique culture”, Lara said.

Lara loves living in the moment. Having been presented with some big personal challenges throughout her life, Lara doesn’t sweat the small stuff and always looks for the enjoyment in each day. Her personal mantra: life is all about how you handle plan B.

We asked Lara if there was someone who inspires her and without hesitation, she answered, her daughter who having lost her father and moved from her home in the UK to Australia with her mother, continues to embrace opportunities and embodies fairness and empathy which consistently inspires Lara.

Besides establishing a successful desk, this is what Lara is hoping to bring to the team: fun, laughter and motivation.

Fun fact about Lara, she goes horse riding every week and she has a short-haired cat named Frankie who follows her everywhere.
