The official launch of the Care2Achieve program by the Smith Family is less than two weeks away!
Care2Achieve provides advice, financial support and mentorship opportunities to a group of Queensland’s most disadvantaged young women to improve their educational outcomes. Professional and personal development is at the core of what we do at Peopleconnexion, so the entire team is excited to get behind Managing Director Kristine Berry who will be involved the program as a Smith Family ?champion? and advocate.
Program background:
By age 24, more than 40% of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are not fully engaged in training, education or work. The Care2Achieve program aims to break the cycle of disadvantage and support young women into better outcomes. As young people leave care, the transition into adulthood is fast-tracked and often complicated by the need to juggle study, work, independence and networks with additional financial stress and no support.
By empowering and championing these women, we can make real and lasting change in their lives.
Over the coming months, we will be keeping you updated with the program and letting you know what you can personally do to help. To find out more about the program, please visit: https://www.thesmithfamily.com.au/campaigns/care2achieve-scholarship-for-young-women-leaving-care-qld
