Peopleconnexion Recruitment supports the Care2Achieve program, an initiative run by the Smith Family to provide advice, financial support and mentorship opportunities for young women leaving state care.
Professional and personal development is at the core of what we do at Peopleconnexion, so the entire team has been excited to get behind Managing Director Kristine Berry who has been involved the program as a Smith Family ?champion? and advocate.
Through generous donations from our contractors and the Peopleconnexion team, we have raised $1,000 towards the program over the last year. So far, the program has supported over 70 students and has opened up incredible opportunities for internships, access to graduate programs and networking events for the group.
The program is currently piloting two groups of students and following their journeys through to the completion of their studies in 2022. The outcomes of these group of students will inform future programs and intervention efforts, with new intakes currently on hold until further evaluations are completed.
In the meantime, Peopleconnexion and our generous contractors will still be participating in our voluntary pre-tax salary sacrifice initiative to support the program as long as it continues.
We wish the students involved in the program every success over the coming year as they continue their students and undertake internship and networking opportunities with some of Queensland’s industry leaders.
