Cross River Rail Shortlist Released

New developments on Brisbane’s most awaited rail project are finally here.

Today the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority released the details of the long-awaited shortlisted consortia and alliances vying for the $5.4 billion project.

The project is being split into two packages: The Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) alliance and the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) PPP, requiring a wide array of technical expertise from civil backgrounds.

The RIS alliance will focus on surface works and integration with Queensland Rail’s ETCS (European Train Control System), whereas the expertise required for the TSD PPP is centred around the construction of 5.9km of tunnel and station caverns under the Brisbane River and CBD.

From the release of the shortlist, it’s clear all hands will be on deck across Brisbane’s engineering consultancies as the Alliance Development phase of the project progresses. With the close of the RIS and TSD contracts due in late-2018 and early-mid-2019 respectively, keep an eye out for new developments and an influx of new rail opportunities becoming available in the next 12 months.
