THIS WEEK'S RECIPE:

Pizza Dough

Simple but if you live In PNG definitely a crowd pleaser. The beauty of this dough is that it’s fantastic made and cooked straight away but it’s better tomorrow and even better on day 5! This is because dough develops more flavor over time.

Pizza is defiantly a dish that PNG people have embraced wholeheartedly so today I thought I would share how to make the perfect Pizza Dough.

Thin pizza crust is characterized by its thin, crisp texture. It's rolled out thinly and baked at high temperatures, resulting in a delicate and light base that allows the toppings to shin.

Deep pan pizza crust, on the other hand, is a thicker, doughier option. It's typically baked in a deep dish or pan, which allows it to rise and become fluffy. This style of crust has a substantial chewiness and can hold a generous amount of toppings and sauce.

Ultimately, the choice between thin and deep pan pizza crust depends on personal preference which is why I like the below as it is a combination of both.

Ingredients

  • Plain Four x 4 cups
  • Salt x 2 teaspoons
  • Warm Water x 330ml
  • Olive Oil x 4 tablespoons
  • Sugar x 4 tablespoons
  • Instant rapid rise yeast x 2 teaspoons

Method

  • Place flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl and mix with a spoon.
  • Make a well in the center and pour in oil and warm water. Mix all ingredients together until it comes away from the side of the bowl.
  • Sprinkle a small amount of flour onto a bench and scrape the dough out.
  • Knead dough for roughly 5 minutes, shape into a bowl.
  • Drizzle a large bowl with a little additional olive oil and place the dough in. Turn over and rub the top with the oil before coving with Cling wrap.
  • Place in a warm place for 1-2 hours until the dough doubles in size.

When you are ready to use your dough, simply sprinkle the work surface with a little flour and break off required amount of raw dough. Using your fingers or a rolling pin roll the dough into the desired shape and size. Dough should be roughly 0.5cm thick for best result.

Add your sauce, favorite toppings, cheese and bake in a hot oven for roughly 12 min or until cheese has melted and become golden.
